Meet Cordelia! She’s a beautiful red and white basset hound that we expect to be around three years old. She weighs around 40lbs and has the most charming sad eyes and boop-able nose.
Cordelia came to us without a lot of information as she was a stray we pulled from a rural shelter. We do know that she is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, and she’s heartworm negative.
She gets along great with dogs her size, but she’s a little nervous about dogs who are much larger than she is. She does well with adults, children, but hasn’t been tested with cats or other animals. She has a sweet temperament and she’s very snuggly. She loves playing with other dogs.
Cordelia would do best in a home with a fenced yard. She walks great on a leash but doesn’t go potty while on walks. She’s not fully potty trained, but we’re working on it. Having a fenced yard to use for potty training would be beneficial. She’s also working on crate training. She’s okay being in a crate but has had a couple accidents.
No dog is perfect and we never expect that in rescue. Cordelia is charming, lovable, sweet and happy dog who has a couple basic things to keep practicing, but she is certainly worth the work.
